A Great E-commerce Website For Christmas Decorations!

We’re only a few weeks away from December and you know what that means? The sound of jingle bells will soon be coming to town, and it’s time to think about Christmas. I’m a huge fan of the holidays, and go all out with decorations, both inside and outside, with even a few items on the roof. I believe it’s important to show the community my holiday spirit, and know it’s contagious, as around here we all tend to deck out are houses and yards.

That’s why when I came across a great e-commerce site where you can purchase outdoor and outdoor christmas decorations online, I wanted to share it with you all. The company is called CollectiblesToday, and they offer a truly vast variety of decorations for the holiday season. What’s neat about purchasing festive items online, is that you won’t have all the same cookie-cutter items from the local store, that your neighbors will. There’s nothing like spending big on that giant novelty item for your yard, only to have a friend down the block with the same one.

Browsing around website, my favorite part was definitely the Disney category, as watching Mickey’s Christmas Carol has been a family tradition for many years now. So to me, Disney is an essential part of Christmas, and just plain fun. There were even some really unique Disney-themed train sets that I’m considering purchasing as decorations for this special time of year.

The website itself is easy to navigate, and simple even for a web novice to use. So if you, or perhaps a friend or relative love to decorate for the holidays, head on over to CollectiblesToday. No doubt you’ll have a great time viewing the many festive items. Personally, I spent the better part of an hour there, and now I can’t wait until the holiday season gets into to full swing.

Google will Offer Read-Online-Only Books

November 10th, 2008 | Posted in web news

Google’s recent legal settlement for $125 million and revenue sharing with book publishers is presenting yet another revenue stream for the company.

About 4 years ago Google began to scan out-of-print books to be added to its search database. Subsequently, publishers have responded by issuing a copyright infringement lawsuit.

The project has expanded when Google added parts of in-print books and a link to purchase them. So far, 7 million books have been added to the database.

The settlement is awaiting approval by the court, which is expected in mid-2009 when the Google Book Search venture will start. At this time, Google is creating an online registry for authors. The authors will determine the prices and earn slightly more than 50% of the sale.

This model could signal another settlement potential with comedy Central owner Viacom which has a $1 billion lawsuit against Google-owned YouTube.

Apple’s attempt to shake up the iPod and iPhone management group has been placed on hold.

A federal court judge granted the injunction that was requested by IBM, ordering Mark Papermaster to stop working for Apple until the case is settled.

Apple did hire Papermaster from IBM last month in order to be the head the hardware engineering team for its handheld gadgets. IBM, as a result, sued Papermaster who did sign a non-compete agreement in 2006, stating that he violated the agreement.

While Apple continues to be the leader in the MP3 market, its sales growth has slowed significantly during the last 2 years.
