A Look At 2ip Web Hosting
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
Recently I discovered a unique web hosting company that I want to share with you all. The company, 2ip Web Hosting Solution, offers web hosting services that stand apart from others in their sectors.
The main factor in what makes 2ip web hosting unique is that they do not charge a monthly or annual cost, instead opting to charge a simple one time fee. I have never seen another web hosting company do this, and it’s a great bargain to be able to pay once and have web hosting for life. The start-up fees themselves are even quite small, starting at twenty five dollars.
Also, they offer a variety of free website building software and video demonstrations in order to assist those without a current website in building one. I would particularly recommend this company to web novices as they have done an excellent job of providing step by step guidance in getting a website up and running.
Researchers Find Out How Spammers Make Money
US researchers have hijacked a functioning spam network, and by doing so, have discovered some of the financial aspects of spam.
The researchers were from the University of California, Berkeley and UC, San Diego (UCSD). The 7 team members have worked for a month to penetrate and test the Storm network which hijacked home computers as relays for junk mail. At its peak, the Storm system was believed to have more than one million machines under its control.
The researchers created several so-called “proxy bots” that acted to convey information between the command system for Storm and the hijacked home PCs. The group used these machines to control 75,869 hijacked machines and routed their own fake spam campaigns using them.
2 types of spam was sent, one was mimicking the Storm system of spreading using viruses and the other tried to lure people to visit a fake pharmacy and buy a herbal remedy to boost libido.
469 million junk e-mail messages were sent by the researchers. After 26 days, and 350 million email messages, only 28 sales were made. The revenue worked out to about $100 per day. When taking into consideration the full Storm networks, it is estimated that about $7000 per day was made, or $2 million per year. Although a significant sum of money, the researchers have estimated that spammers aren’t making as much money as previously predicted.
The researchers concluded that the possible high costs of running such an operation may be a way to combat spam operations in the future.
YouTube wll Post Full Length MGM Movies
YouTube will soon be permitting the playing of full length TV shows and movies from MGM archives. This is the latest step to boost revenue by adding professional video content.
The first show to debut will be the episodes from the “American Gladiators” program. Such movies as “The Magnificent Seven” will be shown with ads running together with the video.
YouTube did sign a similar partnership with CBS for running full-length archived TV shows such as “Star Trek” and “Beverly Hills 90210.”
Other networks are also utilizing YouTube to display short clips of their shows and may at some point sign similar agreements for full length videos.
The new partnerships has placed YouTube as a direct competitor to Hulu, the site owned by General Electric’s NBC Universal division. Hulu features current full length shows from Fox, NBC, and CBS.
