Book Las Vegas Tickets On the Web

February 28th, 2009 | Posted in Uncategorized

Many people are aware that Las Vegas is a world class, highly entertaining city. Vegas is known for the many impressive and outlandish casino resorts and shows they provide. I have frequented the city many times and on my next trip, I will to attend the Elton John Las Vegas show, which I will book using the Bestofvegas.com website. This website provides Las Vegas show tickets for Cirque du Soleil, Blue Man Group, Cher and many more. As well as being affordable, buying tickets using the site is secure and fast.

I am looking forward to seeing Elton John since he has such a marvelous voice and I am hoping he will be wearing one of his fancy costumes and big glasses, which is sure to put a smile on the audience’s face. I know Elton has won many musical awards and has even been knighted by the Queen of England and it would be a real pleasure to see him in person.

Beyond the shows, the website provides hotel room reservation services, VIP passes for night clubs, tickets for tours and attractions, and tickets for various golf courses. Remaining true to the relaxed nature of Las Vegas, the website also offers a gossip page and a ‘Vegas Top 10′ list, including such great activities as:Best Shopping, Best Spas, Best Night Clubs, Best Pools and more. The site offers various interesting technical options including streaming video previews that play together while the customers are making their reservations. An additional practical feature worth mentioning is the simultaneous purchasing platform that is connected to show box offices and hotel inventory networks.

The company that stands behind the website BestOfVegas.com is Entertainment Benefits Group, one of the largest private travel companies in the US. In 2007, the company sold more than 1 million admissions for attractions and event tickets.

Trip Around the World with the Help of Twitter

February 28th, 2009 | Posted in Uncategorized

A blogger is undertaking a major journey by trying to travel as far around the globe as possible, and only utilizing the help of fellow microbloggers on Twitter. Paul Smith, commonly referred to online as the Twitch Hiker, is hoping to reach New Zealand and raise money for charity concurrently. Smith will start his journey on Sunday from Newcastle in northern England — and unless the his fellow Internet users pitches to help out,  he may be spending some nights sleeping on benches in various locations.

The freelance writer has come up with several rules for the 30-day challenge. He is only willing to accept travel and accommodation from Twitter members, he will not make arrangements for more than 3 days in advance and if he only gets a single offer, he must agree to it within 48 hours. In an interview with Sky News, Smith said “It’s never been done before, so it has novelty value,” and “What it proves is Twitter is more than just a social network — it’s a human search engine.”

Help For Those With Thinning Hair

February 27th, 2009 | Posted in Uncategorized

The way we look plays a big part in our self confidence, and the manner in which we tackle the world each day. Whether it is at work, play, or our romantic lives, feeling attractive and healthy is important. One thing that can negatively effect our appearances, and consequently, the way we feel about ourselves, is when our hair begins to thin.

Let’s face it, when a man’s (or women’s) hair begins to thin, it brings on a feeling of being old, and like we’re no longer in our youthful prime. I mean, going grey is bad enough, but at least that can be corrected with hair dye. What options are there for those who are losing their hair?

One suggestion I would give, is to check out some of the products offered at hello-gorgeous.net, specifically their large variety of toppik products. Toppik offers products that can certainly help to give those with thinning hair the appearance of thicker, more youthful hair. One product in particular that I would recommend checking out is Toppik Hair Building Fibers, as this product can easily help to give you better hair coverage.

Also, I was quite pleased with the low discount prices, and huge A-Z selection on the hello-gorgeous.net website. They also offer very fast shipping, so you can get your products quickly!

Kindle 2 Text To Speech Changes

February 27th, 2009 | Posted in Uncategorized

One of the most interesting features of the new Kindle 2 has to be the text to speech option. This is where a user can toggle between reading a book on their Kindle, to having the book read to them aloud (albeit, by a very computer sounding voice, not a profession narrator). This option is handy during say, a car ride, or even while working instead of listening to a radio. I imagine the feature could be extremely useful to college students, who have to read a large amount of text during cram sessions.

Well, unfortunately, while text to speech is still available on most of the Kindle 2’s offerings, Amazon is no longer making it mandatory, and authors or rights holders to the books will be able to decide if they wish their literature to be include text to speech. Honestly, I can’t imagine why any author would take issue with text to speech, unless, perhaps, they make a good portion of their income from audio book sales. Again though, the text to speech offered by the Kindle is not at the level of a profession narrator, but rather a computerized voice.

The whole thing kind of makes me scratch my head, but certainly doesn’t make me want a Kindle 2 any less!

Looking For A New Employment Opportunity?

February 26th, 2009 | Posted in Uncategorized

If you’re currently unemployed and looking for employment, you’re sure not alone, as we all probably know at least a few people who have been laid off in the last few months. Finding employment during these difficult economic times can be difficult, as there is an abundance of competition for each advertised job opening.

However, today I came across Lightship Research, a company that is able to help qualified executives find stable employment. Lightship Research is different than other employment agencies, because they use a unique strategy which taps into the many unadvertised job openings, allowing their candidates to stand a good chance at employment. In fact, most times they are able to find individuals suitable employment in a thirty to ninety day time frame.

Free TV On iPhone From CBS

February 26th, 2009 | Posted in Uncategorized

Geez, some of the cool apps, and other goodies that iPhone users enjoy makes me wonder if my choice to opt for the Blackberry storm over the Apple iPhone was the right choice. Sure, I love my Blackberry Storm, its capable of many things, and when the Blackberry app store is released, it will not doubt pick up the momentum, but it seems as though there is something new and cool for the iPhone everyday.

And today is no different, as CBS has announced that they will be providing free streaming television to iPhone users, via a new TV.com application. It’s a pretty cool offer, considering that the application is a free download, and provides full length episodes of a variety of select CBS programs over the user’s 3g or wifi network. Some of the television shows available will be hits like 90210 and CSI.

Waste Management Software

February 26th, 2009 | Posted in Uncategorized

Today I came across an interesting solid waste management software company online, called Carolina Software, and thought I would share it here for any interested parties.

Basically the software, called WasteWORKS, provides full scale solutions for the oversight of any business that requires waste management software, including recycling stations, landfills, and more. The software provides an economically friendly means for these operations to effectively manage their solid waste. One thing I particularly like about Carolina Software, is that they provide a heralded level of support for their WasteWORKS product, which provides peace of mind, and makes WasteWORKS a safe choice for any business.

Google Finally Joins Twitter

February 26th, 2009 | Posted in Uncategorized

Well, it looks like Google has finally joined Twitter, the micro-blogging platform that is growing in popularity at enormous speeds. There are rumors abound that Google plans to buy the platform, and this new development only serves to strengthen such rumors.

So what was Google’s first tweet?

“I’m 01100110 01100101 01100101 01101100 01101001 01101110 01100111 00100000 01101100 01110101 01100011 01101011 01111001 00001010″

At first I was a little bewildered by the obvious lines of code, but apparently they are binary speak for “I’m Feeling Lucky”, which is, of course, an option through Google Search. Their next tweet was an announcement of a new Google service dashboard, that lets users know the status of various Google ran services.

Google  is providing an response for a recent e-mail outage by offering15 days of free service to businesses, government agencies and other subscribers who normally pay for an extended version of the email client. The offer is meant to appease customers who were severed from their e-mail accounts on Tuesday for as long a period as 4 hours. Most Internet users who have an online email account with Gmail use the free version.
