Apple Hits 300 million Apps Downloaded Mark
The iPhone app store is really making waves as of late. Recently, they announced that they have over ten thousand apps in their collection for users to download (some free, some at a cost), and as if that weren’t enough, today they hit another milestone: Over 300 million iPhone apps have been downloaded from their app store!
Those are staggering numbers, and just go to further prove just how popular Apple’s iPhone offering is. Stats on the number of free versus paid apps were not included in the announcement, but naturally, many are wondering.
What is also interesting, is just how quickly the app market is growing. In late October, Apple announced that they had distributed 200 million apps, and almost half of the ten thousand now available, were not at the time. Which makes me curious, just how long will it be until they hit 1 billion?
