iTunes To Become More Expensive?

As a frequent iTunes user I was a little disturbed about some news I heard today: iTunes costs are going up! It used to be that I went to iTunes, found the mp3 I was looking for, and bought it without much thought of the price. That’s because I knew the price - iTunes are almost always ninety nine cents!

Well, that is no longer the case. Apple has announced that they have made changes to their iTunes pricing model, enabling a new three-zone pricing system. There will now be three set prices for iTunes - 69 cents, 99 cents, and $ 1.29.

Now obviously, I’m okay with the 69 and 99 cent variations, but wonder how many will receive the price bump up to 1.29? And how will they decide which songs receive which price? That party is still a mystery. I’m just hoping its not the majority, as I’d hate to have to scale back on my mp3 iTunes purchases!
