MySpace To Produce iPod-like Device?

Word on the street, er blogosphere, is that MySpace is toying with the idea of creating an iPod rival. You can ask Miscrosoft Zune, the portable music market is dominated by Apple, and it would be no easy feat to compete. However, MySpace Rep Chris DeWolfe has recently stated that the plans are indeed possible. Let’s hope they keep in mind that the iPod line from Apple has over 160 million reported sales.

The speculation comes after MySpace recently made changes to its music service by allowing users to distribute and purchase songs through their popular social networking site. Clearly the move has been worthwhile if MySpace is considering its own mp3 type player. And, with their over 100 million users, MySpace is not to be overlooked.
