Pownce Set To Be Taken Offline

If you’re a user of the online micro-blogging service, Pownce, you’ll no doubt be saddened to learn that its new owners, Six Apart Media, have planned to dismantle the service. In my opinion, this is most likely because the service is just not able to keep up to the growth of their chief competitor, Twitter.

Six Apart Media recently bought Pownce, but apparently only wanted the talent behind the company, as it will be distributing them to work in other areas, and closing down the Pownce micro-blogging service.

When does this all go down? You have until December fourteenth to say goodbye (and move your contacts over to another service) to Pownce, as the service will officially close on December fifteenth. Adios, Pownce!
