Update on my JohnChow.com Entrecard Experiment

The results of my 4000+ Entrecard credit expenditure on Johnchow.com are in! How did it work out, you ask? Well… my widget had a decidedly poor performance. While I didn’t have overly high hopes, I thought it would do decently, as I’ve had results in the 50 + range from at least five other blogs. Johnchow.com only provided 33 clicks on my widget, which would be OK and even good from most blogs, but in this case, provides an appalling 124 credits per click. (well, at least that’s the number according to my limited math skills).

So what’s the conclusion? Well, results may vary, but I’m going to stay away from the very high priced blogs, and continue to use my credits on more mid-priced sites, as well as cheap new blogs, as I find they are often a good bargain.

Oh, and a shout out to the sites that I have had the most success with my EC ads on. Most of these blogs feature the widget above the fold, or at least pretty close, so that may be one indicator of why they are good for advertisers. I recommend you check them out:
